COMMENTS

Throughout all later line-up changes, the core members that always remain are Corey Taylor and Josh Rand.

The band was named after an alcoholic drink that consists of one part whiskey, one part orange juice, with a splash of sour mix.

On the album 'Come What(ever) May', Roy Mayorga appears on all tracks on the album... except opener '30/30-150'... drums on that track are done by Godsmack and Amen drummer Shannon Larkin.

Kelly Moriarity, local Des Moines artist and drummer, once did a hand-drawn poster for Stone Sour back in the old days.

Michael 'Sinner' Ramsey (ex-Dawn Of Destruction, ex-Painface) was one of the four providers of additional vocals on the band's 2012 album 'House Of Gold & Bones - Part 1', on the track 'RU486'. He is credited as simply 'Sinner'. The follow-up 2013 album 'House Of Gold & Bones - Part 2' is also said to feature the same four guests performing 'gang vocals', but it's not specified on which track(s).

Author's note: Stone Sour is one of the most musically diverse bands to come out of Des Moines, Iowa in general, and indeed the world. During their earlier years especially, they have performed everything from original pop rock to heavy metal with elements of thrash, covers, instrumentals, experimental, rap, spoken word, acoustic, ballad, orchestral, comedy and even TV advert jingles.
